With only few weeks left on this coast and many friendly faces to see, it is becoming quite hard to juggle work, trip prep, and seeing friends/family. Sometimes sleep is a sacrifice, but it is worth it. You just have to prioritize in the current market of time. The best way to see a lot of people in short amount of time is to invite them all over on the same day. I believe ancient Greeks referred to these types of gatherings as par-taes, which is the origin of the word party. So few people will come, we will enjoy some beverages and grub and it is likely that this would be the last time they see our faces before we come back again on this coast some months later. The Lady is planning on coming back every several months, while I am currently unsure about my frequency of coast-to-coast hoops-and-ladders.
Of course, plans are not meant to be followed strictly, as life has proven again and again. So, I am trying to keep both short-term and long-term things in perspective. I do know though, that good time happen if you have a high concentration of good people in one place. All of our gatherings have been successful, and this one will be no different. Just got to make sure there is ambiance and opportunity to make toasts!
