Mere days away, and there are still few things to take care. Utilities have been notified, so was the landlord. Wonder if we see any of the deposit, since there are some hard-to-hide cat-vs-carpet damages and a burned pan-sized linoleum in the kitchen. Well, that's what the deposit is for, right? Cats are properly taken care of and will be flown to Portland in mid-July.
The car is sold to junk yard, which forced me to bike to train station and then to work. While it worked the first day, turns out I can not take the bike during peak hours. Had to learn the hard way - missed the train plus had to walk to work form station. No big deal, though. I am preparing for pedestrian lifestyle of Portland. Yesterday i biked nearly 10 miles. Would have been less had not taken wrong turn. I do enjoy being active though - at least I deserve my lunch and am quite hungry for it.
It used to be this: sit on my butt for an hour in traffic, getting to work, arrive to work and sit behind the desk most of the day, then sit more in the car on the way to tutoring job where I sit some more. Time to go home and I'm on my buns again in the car. Got home? Tired. What to do? Sit on the couch. Terrible schedule to have.
So I am glad the circumstances forced me to bike. The train even takes half the time in the morning so I have more than enough time to get to work.
Tag sale is happening in three days. Hopefully I will be able to get rid of much of the crap and sell the rest on craigslist. Michelle is in Boston for few days, and I am happily resting at my moms. She makes a mean cocktail. Made some dinner together. Sister is getting ready for SAT Bio, so she's tired. Andrew and Paola moved in NYC last weekend.
So I should say few words about the last party - it was a total blast.
I had a friend coming from Philadelphia, who took a 5hr bus and then 2hr train to make it there. A carload from Boston and several lovely individuals from NYC. Ten people stayed over night and we, of course went out to Chips for breakfast the next morning. I fed them chicken wings, BBQ/Jamaican Jerk baked beans and Brussels sprouts with bacon, walnuts, and cranberries. Lots of tasty drinks and even the cops weren't a problem. Sure we were too loud around the fire at 2am. But who isn't these days? People were very pleased with the gathering and many proclaimed to be visiting us in Portland in the near future. By all means, I will cook you even more tasty food!
